Tools for Making YOUR Web Pages

Yola.com

http://yola.com

An easy-to-use tool for creating webpages and simple blog pages too. Can have password-protected pages. Has many great templates and is flexible and open to many uses. Free to everyone, extra sites for educators who ask. Small link/ad to CSS source on each page.

15mb per file, 1 GB storage per site, 5 sites (until you advise them you are an educator)

Google Sites

http://www.google.com/sites/help/intl/en/overview.html

An easy-to-use Google-based tool for creating and hosting websites. Must have free Google account. Has templates to create nice websites. Best with Google content, doesn't always "play well" with non-Google widgets and items. Small Google Sites link/ad on bottom of page.

20mb file size limit, 100mb storage per site

Weebly

http://www.weebly.com

Another easy-to-use tool (see a theme here?) Strengths are the interface and design (70+). Must pay to have password protection on pages. Small Weebly ad on the bottom of each page.

No audio or video player in free version.

Webs

http://www.webs.com/

Yet another tool with a nice interface and ease-of-use... I have only a very little experience with this one... It does place Webs ads on the free sites.

40 mb of storage and up to 30 minutes of video
